Building a More Inclusive Workplace: The Importance of Psychological Safety
Workplace psychological safety is when employees have the ability and freedom to speak up, share ideas, admit mistakes and to challenge each other without fear of judgement. This allows employees to be the best of themselves, while employers with an inclusive workplace benefit from the best talent and better performing teams. This is especially a pertinent topic where gender bias, discrimination, and microaggression can prevent women from fully displaying their full potential.
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to discuss what companies and line managers can do to build trust and cultivate psychological safety, what employees can do to build allyship, and how women have overcome their psychological/mental barriers and develop their careers.
This session is organised by the Women in Business Committee of the BCCT.
