(09 Sept. 2021)
Due to concerns about COVID-19 and by following Taipei Government restriction, we at the BCCT are concerned for the safety and wellbeing of our members and friends. We have decided to cancel our Shaken not Stirred this month as we evaluate the situation. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy, we look forward to seeing you all next time.
Your BCCT monthly Shaken Not Stirred includes Hinch Single Pot Still Whiskey, Budvar Beer and a light gourmet meal. Come meet old friends and make new ones in a relaxed, informal setting.
What are you going to have at this month's SNS:
- Hinch single Pot Still Whiskey -
Hinch Distillery, located in the beautiful grounds of Killaney Estate, Co. Down, Ireland.
At the Hinch, (taken from Ballynahinch, meaning 'town of the island' in Gaelic) and set amongst County Down's rolling green drumlin hills, we have created a distillery that has aspirations well beyond 'the ordinary', ambitions to be creative well beyond 'the easily achieved'. County Down has a strong distilling history and from the late 18th to the early 20th century was home to seven Irish Whiskey producing distilleries. We are intensely proud to be part of the continuing story of County Down with the creation of the Hinch Distillery.
We are inspired by the distilling traditions and skills exchanged over the centuries during the ebb and flow of Gaelic peoples across the Irish Sea. Informed by the past but looking to the future we are creating Irish whiskeys that are reassuringly smooth yet very distinctively richer and bolder in character.
Single Pot Still
2021 Whiskey Bible Scores 94.5
Our Single Pot Still expression of this uniquely Irish style of whiskey is part aged in Bourbon casks and part in Sherry Butts. Light brown in appearance with herbaceous and biscuit aromas and a distinct zesty note.
Our Single Pot Still has pronounced tart and fruit flavours balanced by a beautiful spice undercurrent. Subtle sherry notes develop nicely in the aftertaste. Distinctive and historic Irish whiskey style inspired by our past traditions. Bold, innovative, contemporary Irish whiskey proudly made in County Down.
