Summary

WORKPLACE COMMUNICATION: NAVIGATING LEADERSHIP

Objectives

Within this interactive workshop, participants will:

  • review and analyze several leadership styles
  • assess their own styles across several contexts
  • practice using different approaches within workplace (and everyday) situations
  • enhance their 'navigational' skills when working with diverse teams

Concept

Leadership begins with critical self-reflection on one's past and present actions, reactions, and communication approaches across a variety of contexts. Tapping into these processes and expanding possibilities can support the development of more effective leadership practices when interacting with individuals and teams.

This workshop will go beyond concepts and theories on leadership and help participants learn how to take more proactive 'leaderly' approaches within daily situations. This will be done through individual reflection, pair work, and facilitated group activities and discussions.

Agenda

  1. Introduction and 'leadership warm-up'
  2. Review of different leadership styles
  3. Leadership self-assessment
  4. Scenario/simulation practice
  5. Navigating diverse teams
  6. Wrap-up and ongoing steps
