After the debut of the UK booth at last year's IEAT Wine & Liquor Expo, the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei), together with the British Office Taipei, is delighted to host the UK booth at the IEAT Wine & Liquor Expo 2023, showcasing 4 UK companies eager to distribute their products in Taiwan.


Taiwan is already the UK's third biggest whisky export market behind only the US and France and presents further significant opportunities for UK companies in the beverage sector. Each year, the International Wine & Liquor Promotion event organised by the Importers & Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT) brings together 70 merchants to present fine wine and liquor selections from 27 countries, attracting more than 1000+ professional buyers and has become the largest and only trade show for wine professionals in Taiwan.


This year, with the help of our Event Supporters, we're bringing 4 fantastic new tastes to Taiwan!

Food & Drink Trends: Whisky & Spirits in Taiwan



Taiwan, ranking among the top consumers of whisky per capita globally, boasts a dynamic market. In 2021, domestic whisky comprised only 7% of Taiwan's overall whisky consumption by volume, with the UK leading as the largest supplier, accounting for a staggering 93.5% of total imports by value, amounting to GBP 381.9 million. Moreover, in 2022, beverages, primarily Scotch whisky, stood out as the top product exported from the UK to Taiwan, constituting 20% of all UK goods exported to the region. Additionally, recent stats from the Scotch Whisky Association reveal that Taiwan, as of February 2023, held the position of the fourth-largest market by value for Scotch whisky in 2022, showcasing a notable demand for single malt expressions.

Up-and-comer: UK Wines


Taiwan's wine market is highly dependent on imports, with import volume accounting for 96.3% of total consumption in 2021, reaching 21.7m litres. France, the US, Italy and Australia dominate Taiwan's imported wine market, accounting for 83.7% of imports. According to the UK Food & Drink Federation, the import value of UK wine to Taiwan reached GBP 7.7m in 2021, making wine the UK's 3rd highest F&B export product by value to Taiwan.

A dry wine with well layered flavours and aromas. Very clean, crisp and fresh. Versatile with temperature, beautiful when chilled but best served between 10-12 degrees celsius. This allows the complexity to shine through. Harmonious palate and plush mouse.


Our Classic Cuvee is built for food and longer term bottle aging. It pairs with a variety of different foods all of which will accentuate distinct characteristics of this wine. It can hold its ground against strong, bold umami flavours. 


Fruity nose, think apples and lemons, with subtle aromas of honey and freshly baked bread. The palate is striking with laser-like acidity carrying flavours of tarte au citron, toasted nuts and squeezes of fresh lemon.
