Following the success of the UK Pavilion at Energy Taiwan 2022, the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei), together with the British Office Taipei, are thrilled to host the UK Offshore Wind Pavilion at Energy Taiwan 2023. This pavilion will showcase UK offshore wind supply chain companies committed to supporting Taiwan's offshore wind developments.

Energy Taiwan is the largest exhibition supported by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 2022, the exhibition attracted nearly 20,000 visitors from 50 countries to profile the breakthroughs and products for a global market.

Energy Trends: UK renewables

Building on the UK's strength in decarbonisation and clean growth technology, the UK is at the forefront of fixed bottom and floating offshore wind deployment in Europe, and the second largest offshore wind (OSW) market in the world. As of 2022, the UK has a total pipeline of up to 78GW of offshore wind. The British Energy Security Strategy (BESS), published in April 2022, set the ambition to achieve up to 50 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind by 2030, including 5 GW from innovative floating technology. The UK has the knowledge, skills and services to support markets and businesses in the Indo-Pacific to develop projects and industrialise supply chains to meet their offshore wind targets.

Up-and-comer: UK renewables in Taiwan

The UK has almost twenty years of renewable energy engagement with Taiwan, especially on offshore wind. The BCCTaipei's UK Renewables Committee is playing an active role in supporting the promotion and development of the local talent pool and the facilitation of business cooperation to further enhance the local supply chain.

Taiwan is now the UK's largest offshore wind market in Asia Pacific region with over 40 UK offshore wind companies having opened offices in Taiwan; many of these offices serving as the regional Asia-Pacific hub.

UK companies exhibiting at Energy Taiwan 2023

14 UK companies with business operations in Taiwan will be exhibiting at the UK Offshore Wind Pavilion to demonstrate UK supply chain expertise on offshore windfarm planning & construction, engineering consulting, O&M services, green energy industry recruitment, floating wind technology, subsea equipment, ocean surface measurement, satellite telecommunication networks, inspection service, and temporary power & temperature solutions for offshore wind farms.

Join us in a warm welcome to explore the UK Offshore Wind Pavilion at Energy Taiwan 2023. Click Here to pre-register for the exhibition.
