Future of Work Series – How Global Trends are Changing the Way We will Work

A number of global developments will likely impact the way we will work in the future. The pandemic accelerated some of them making them even more relevant for organizations to consider. Two examples:

Trend 1: The impact of work from home (WFM) as a response to COVID19.

The still ongoing pandemic has forced many organizations around the world to make changes to the way they organize work. For years companies have argued that working from home was not possible. With the pandemic forcing them to think differently the problem was solved within 48 hours. In many sectors, WFH and changing patterns of communication and interactions are becoming the norm, and for an entire generation, it will be a serious option.

Trend 2: The New Work Movement

In Europe and the US there is the New Work movement that strives to unite the personal purpose of individuals with contributing to an organization: Work should be something that people really want to do, not something they are forced or coerced to do. In Mainland China young people rebel against the 996-working model and refuse to continue doing 12-hour working-days. In Taiwan the young generation seems to have very different ideas about what good work is all about than the generation currently making the decisions.

We see that these trends are leading to the adoption of new policies, practices, and expectations impacting the future of work.

In large part because of Taiwan's successful COVID19 response, the island's organizations are in danger of being left behind. Organizations that understand these trends and prepare accordingly will have an advantage.

In our Future of Work Series we will explore these and other trends and assess their impact on and the consequences for organizations.

The Future of Work Series consists of two sessions:

  • A Three-hour workshop for HR&LD representatives. [25 Feb 2021]

Using a future-thinking methodology we will share and discuss local and global trends and using the wisdom of the group jointly create insights for how work will change in the future for organizations in Taiwan.

  • A One-hour breakfast session for CEOs. [8 April 2021]

We will share and further discuss the insights gained and create actionable next steps to ensure the company's future fitness. (Registration link will coming soon... )

*Note: Due to COVID 19, we will need all guests to fill in the Travel and Health Declaration online during registration. This is for all the participant's health safety and follows the Local Taiwan regulations. Thank you for your understanding in advance.
