British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei

British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei) is a value-adding resource that champions the business and social interests of its members in Taiwan. Made up of large and small corporations, individuals, and overseas associations, BCCTaipei is a strong and cosmopolitan mixture of successful enterprises in diverse industries.
BCCTaipei acts as a key resource for UK companies interested in the Taiwan market by ensuring that businesses, especially SMEs, have a direct line to assistance and networks. They provide landing pad services and offer a united but unbiased commercial perspective on all issues affecting British business interests in Taiwan, and Taiwan business interests in the UK.
BCCTaipei provides a broad range of membership activities and events including business networking opportunities and free-for-member Talent Development Workshops. BCCTaipei also has a number of Signature Events including the St Andrew's Ball, Charity Golf and Football Tournaments, and the Christmas Charity Auction. We also have a number of specific events, large and small, throughout the year focusing on CSR, Young Professional Development and Women in Business.
The Chamber is housed inside the British Office and shares a very close relationship to the Foreign Office, Department for Business & Trade and the British Council, and holds periodic joint events with other foreign chambers.
In conjunction with membership activities, BCCTaipei has donated over 18 million NT dollars to local Taiwanese charities, and has an active programme to support the CSR initiatives of its members in Taiwan.

To shake things up a little at this month's SnS Crafthouse have asked BCCT CEO - Steven Parker, a recent performer at Crafthouse, to bring out his trusty guitar again to play a few classic songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond. Yes, you heard us right...apparently he's not bad too - but come along and see for yourself. A percentage of additional purchases and raffle money on the night will go to the BCCT Charity Annual Fund.

Estrella Damm-Mediterranean Beer since 1876

Over 140 years ago, the young brewer August Kuentzmann Damm emigrated from Alsace with his wife Melanie, fleeing the Franco-Prussian War. Their journey took them to the Mediterranean coast, where they settled to fulfil their dream: to brew beer.In 1876, they opened their own brewery and created a beer that was adapted to suit the Mediterranean climate. Lighter than Central European beers that were designed for colder climates, we know it as a Mediterranean Beer.

Estrella Damm is still made following the original 1876 recipe; a blend of malt, rice and hops. Estrella Damm is a golden colour with tones of amber and slight shades of green. It is bright and sparkling, with a cream-coloured, long lasting head. It is a beer with lots of delicate, lively bubbles.

Budějovický Budvar-"The biggest little brewery in the world"

The Budvar brewery directly followed the historical tradition of brewing in the town of České Budějovice (Budweis) dating back to the 13th century – to the days of the town's origination when it was granted the brewing right.

Since its founding, the "Czech Joint-Stock Brewery" focused on making top-quality beer, which soon became a sought after export commodity. In 1897, this beer was awarded a gold medal at a trade fair in Stuttgart and by the end of the 19th century the brewery was exporting to Vienna, Trieste, Venice, Alexandria and Kobe in Japan.

In 1930 a new trademark "Budvar" was registered for a new type of lager, soon becoming synonymous with internationally top-quality beer.
