British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei) is a value-adding resource that champions the business and social interests of its members in Taiwan. Made up of large and small corporations, individuals, and overseas associations, BCCTaipei is a strong and cosmopolitan mixture of successful enterprises in diverse industries.
BCCTaipei acts as a key resource for UK companies interested in the Taiwan market by ensuring that businesses, especially SMEs, have a direct line to assistance and networks. They provide landing pad services and offer a united but unbiased commercial perspective on all issues affecting British business interests in Taiwan, and Taiwan business interests in the UK.
BCCTaipei provides a broad range of membership activities and events including business networking opportunities and free-for-member Talent Development Workshops. BCCTaipei also has a number of Signature Events including the St Andrew's Ball, Charity Golf and Football Tournaments, and the Christmas Charity Auction. We also have a number of specific events, large and small, throughout the year focusing on CSR, Young Professional Development and Women in Business.
The Chamber is housed inside the British Office and shares a very close relationship to the Foreign Office, Department for Business & Trade and the British Council, and holds periodic joint events with other foreign chambers.
In conjunction with membership activities, BCCTaipei has donated over 18 million NT dollars to local Taiwanese charities, and has an active programme to support the CSR initiatives of its members in Taiwan.

Mentorship Programme

The annual BCCTaipei Young Leaders Mentoring Programme is open for applications. The programme is a 6-month journey with your mentorship partner.

Mentees: if you're 18-35 years old and looking for guidance, or

The BCCTaipei Young Leaders Mentoring Programme has now run over the past 6 years separately in Women in Business Committee and Young Professional Committee. The community response has been fantastic: each year, mentors and mentees have paired-up to spend 6 months sharing work and life experiences. Previous programme participants - mentors and mentees alike - have remarked how useful the programme has been for their career development.

This year we would like to consolidate both programmes and integrate into one with more involvement between mentors and mentees starting with the pairing process. We look forward to seeing the sparks brought by the new changes.

BCCTaipei will organise a graduation ceremony and award certificate at the end of the 6-month journey, so you'll have formal recognition of your participation and achievement.

Mentors

We expect you to have at least 10 years of work experience, with much of that at managerial level.

As a mentor in this programme, you will have the opportunity to engage in a mutually beneficial learning experience. Your involvement will allow you to:

Engage in shared learning experiences, fostering an environment of collective growth.
Offer career guidance, enriching your mentee's professional journey based on your valuable experiences.
Build confidence, not only within yourself but also in your ability to support others in their professional development.
Enhance your mentoring skills, which will be invaluable in supporting your own business mentorship programmes.
Contribute significantly to the development of our local industry's talent pool, shaping the future of our professional community.
Receive formal recognition of your achievements through the BCCTaipei Mentoring Graduation Ceremony, and be awarded a Certificate at the conclusion of the programme.

Before you apply to the programme you will need to commit to the following;

I accept that all information discussed with my mentoring partner is confidential.
I commit to participate for the full 6 months of the programme.
I agree to meet (in person, by phone, Line, Skype etc) with my Mentoring Partner at least once a month during the programme.
I have at least 10 years of managerial/senior leadership experience.
I agree to share meet-up photos with BCCTaipei and complete the mentoring survey after the 6-month journey.

Mentees

We expect you to have about 1-10 years of work experience, and be aged between 18-35 years.

As a mentee, this programme offers you a unique set of objectives aimed at your professional growth and development:

Participate in shared learning opportunities, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experiences with your mentor.
Seek career guidance, and build a relationship of professional support and advice.
Build confidence through the insights and encouragement provided by your mentor.
Gain access to invaluable insights from senior industry leaders, broadening your understanding of the professional landscape.
Achieve formal recognition of your participation and growth within the programme, culminating in the BCCTaipei Mentoring Graduation Ceremony where you will receive a Certificate.

Before you apply to the programme you will need to commit to the following;

I accept that all information discussed with my mentoring partner is confidential.
I commit to participate for the full 6 months of the programme by having a minimum of 6 meetings (1 per month) with my mentor, attending BCCTaipei workshops, launch event and programme completion ceremony.
I agree to meet (in person, by phone, Line, Skype etc) with my Mentoring Partner at least once a month during the programme.
I am motivated to improve myself, eager to learn and share.
I agree to share meet-up photos with BCCTaipei and complete the mentoring survey after the 6-month journey.
