Jayne Leung is the Head of Greater China at Facebook, responsible for the advertising business in the region. She joined Facebook from the Rubicon Project, where she served the California-based company to build out their first Asia operation. Prior to that Jayne was with DoubleClick/Google as the APAC Head of New Media Sales. Jayne has been a strong advocate for female leadership in the business and society. In 2016, Jayne helped to launch Facebook’s signature leadership program #SheMeansBusiness in both Hong Kong and Taiwan to support more local female entrepreneurs to grow their business online.
Mayyi Lee is VP of Regional Production & Development for National Geographic Channels Asia, based in Taiwan. With over 18 years of experience in the television and film industry, Mayyi is currently responsible for overseeing factual production and development for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Mayyi originally joined National Geographic Television & Film in 1998, where she worked in production operations. A year later, she joined National Geographic Television and Film’s Natural History Unit, where she was involved in the pre-production, production, and post-production of over 10 wildlife films. She later moved on to join the National Geographic Channel’s Third Party Programming group and worked as an associate producer on the “Snake Wranglers” and “Taboo” series. Mayyi developed, produced, and post produced shows in the U.S., Australia, Africa, and Asia, i.e. Taiwan, Mainland China, Korea, and Malaysia.
Eleven years ago, Mayyi moved to Taiwan as Regional Producer to spearhead “Taiwan to the World,” a skills exchange collaboration with the Government Information Office to nurture and groom local production talents. Since then, “Taiwan to the World” has won numerous domestic and international awards including the coveted Golden Bell Awards for Best Director and Best Editing.
Since moving to Taiwan, Mayyi has executive produced the series, Taiwan to the World (Seasons 1-5), Taiwan’s Elite Warriors: ARP Frogmen, Taiwan’s Elite Warriors: Fighter Pilots, China to the World, Kungfu Motion, Two Tales of China, Route Awakening, Nazi World War Weird, Machine Impossible, Gok’s Chinese Takeaway, and over 80 films about China and Taiwan, working primarily with Asian filmmakers.
May Yi received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as Asian Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (May 1998), and her Master of Arts degree in Producing for Film & Video from American University (May 2002).
Shenan has been with Ogilvy Group since 1985. During her tenure, she worked in Ogilvy’s London office in 1990 and relocated to Ogilvy Beijing in 2003. From 2007 to 2014 she served as Ogilvy & Mather Greater China CEO, and in 2015 she was promoted to Vice Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Greater China, a position she currently retains while based long-term in Taiwan. In June 2016, Shenan was appointed Chairwoman of WPP Taiwan.
She has dedicated her professional experience and passion to helping both local and international clients to build powerful brands. Shenan took command of Ogilvy & Mather Greater China at a time of rapid expansion, fostering a unique, dynamic corporate culture and overseeing many pioneering initiatives in China’s communications industry.
In 2014, CNN featured Shenan in their ‘Leading Women of Asia’ series, and in 2013 she was honored in Forbes Asia’s ‘Women in the Mix’ special issue. Shenan was also awarded ‘Agency Head of the Year’ by Campaign magazine in 2006 and 2010. As an avid writer, she has translated The Unpublished David Ogilvy into Chinese and serves as the Chief Editor of O&M China‘s quarterly magazine, Viewpoint. She is currently a columnist for CommonWealth Magazine,and an advisory committee member of Social Enterprise Revolving Trust (SERT).
